Agent Rooms

An Agent Room is a tenant-scoped workspace where humans and agents collaborate toward a goal. It keeps messages, structured handoffs, runs, artifacts, approvals, policy decisions, memory provenance and audit events in one governed unit of work.

Rooms are the human-facing operational surface of AgentPlat. Collective Runtime and Agent Mesh provide distributed coordination underneath; a Room gives people a place to inspect context, review work, approve protected transitions and retain the resulting evidence.

What a Room provides

  • bounded context assembled from selected messages, artifacts and memory;
  • human and agent participants with explicit roles;
  • structured tasks, progressive plans and agent execution targets;
  • revision-bound execution sessions and human interventions at checkpoints;
  • typed Handoffs with explicit acceptance and non-expanding authority;
  • durable coordination with leases, fencing, retries and restart recovery;
  • human contribution requests and optional work-management projections;
  • immutable knowledge bundles and provenance-preserving tool bridges;
  • append-only artifacts and audit events;
  • approval and policy state;
  • a Room-scoped live view over operational projections;
  • lifecycle transitions from active through paused, completed and archived;
  • tenant-qualified persistence and transport boundaries.

Room-scoped LiveView and SSE

PostgreSQL remains authoritative for Room and operational state. Workflow engines, work-management systems and SSE clients are adapters or projections; they do not acquire Room authority.

Compatibility

The operational runtime is additive in 0.3.0-beta.5. Automatic coordination, checkpoint enforcement, API routes and external adapters are opt-in. Existing applications keep their prior message behavior until the corresponding services are configured. Because this is a prerelease, pin exact coordinated package versions or use the npm next distribution tag.
