Agent Morphogenesis
AgentPlat Agent Morphogenesis is the governed process by which an agent collective can change its operational form while preserving authority, continuity and evidence. It can recruit or create a specialist, realign a role, reassign work, replace or suspend an agent, transform Team topology, adapt a strategy, admit a new agent lineage or advance an organizational epoch.
Morphogenesis is not unrestricted self-modification. It never turns a model output, Mesh message, simulation score or approval button into direct execution authority. It composes the existing owners of identity, Membership, Trust, Inference Control, Team, Work, Action, Workflow and evidence.
The operating loop
bounded authenticated observations
↓
need + target morphology
↓
advisory proposal + compiled operator plan
↓
agent, person, policy, quorum or composite decision
↓
separate execution authorization + authority fence
↓
existing subsystem boundaries perform each effect
↓
receipts + outcome evaluation + successor morphology epochThe decision-maker may be an authorized agent, an authorized person, a local policy, a collective quorum, or a policy-required composition. A person is not intrinsically required. Every principal is checked for mandate, scope, independence, currentness, expiry and conflicts of interest.
Capability map
| Version | Capability | What remains authoritative |
|---|---|---|
| V1 | Observe, propose and run a governed catalog lifecycle | Workflow, Membership, Team, Work and Action owners |
| V2 | Derived/synthesized profiles and advanced organizational operators | Existing factory, role, topology and mission runtimes |
| V3 | Bounded local strategy adaptation and review | Local governance and ordinary Morphogenesis execution |
| V4 | Content-free collective strategy evidence over Agent Mesh | Receiving peer policy, Trust and governance |
| V5 | Governed declarative strategy synthesis and canaries | Certification, review and later execution boundaries |
| V6 | Governed Agent Genesis through sandbox and probation | Agent Factory, Membership, attestation and Work issuance |
| V7 | Whole-collective successor epochs and compensation | Multiple subsystem owners; no global super-authority |
| V8 | Constitutional continuity, meta-governance and fork isolation | Constitutional proof plus existing local authority owners |
Maturity and evidence boundary
V1–V8 are implemented, opt-in source capabilities in the 0.3.0-beta.6
release line. Source, conformance and packaging checks establish deterministic
software behavior. They do not prove production readiness, organizational
improvement, global optimality or safety under every deployment. Operational
claims require deployment-specific evidence.
